Players to Watch
Erling Haaland has scored at least once in each of his four games for Borussia Dortmund so far. His hunger, desire and commitment make him one of the most lethal strikers in Europe. It remains to be seen if he is fully fit, but with Reus out injured, Lucien Favre will likely give him the nod to start.
Julian Brandt showed once again on Tuesday just how good he is. Since his switch to the number eight role, Brandt has been running the show for Borussia Dortmund. Saturday’s game will see him return to the BayArena for the first time since his summer move to Dortmund, and he will be inspired to put on a show against his former side.
Bayer Leverkusen have several dangerous players of their own. While Kai Havertz has struggled this season, Kevin Volland has been one of Leverkusen’s best players. The striker has the potential to cause a lot of problems to the Dortmund defence.
Another Leverkusen player to watch will be new signing Exequiel Palacios. The highly rated midfielder arrived from River Plate last month, and is expected to make his league debut on Saturday.
