Dortmund struggle after tough Champion League match

Borussia Dortmund may have won this one but it was very clear they were pretty wiped after their tough match against PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday. Favre didn’t make any changes to the lineup that won against PSG and it showed. It’s not surprising that Dortmund struggled to bring their usual pace and intensity to the game, luckily it was still enough to get the three points.

The first half from Dortmund was very lethargic offensively, they really struggled to transition the ball from their back line to the attack. They weren’t making their usual runs off the ball and they fell victim to Bremen’s intense high press early on which really pinned them in their half. Dortmund’s quality eventually shone through, the individual quality is always enough to create a chance or two which is exactly what happened with Haaland’s goal. Zagadou also chipped in with a rare corner goal for Dortmund to start the scoring and with how Bremen were playing, it would have been enough for the three points on it’s own.
