The first leg win over PSG

The second leg may not have gone according to the plan, but the first leg win in the Champions League round of 16 tie against Paris St. Germain was still special. Borussia Dortmund were the underdogs going into the game, but they outthought, outfought and outmuscled their opponents on the night, with a fighting display from all XI players on the pitch.

Dortmund defended with great resolve, dominated the midfield battle and looked dangerous on the counter-attack. They missed a few decent chances, but took the lead in the second half through (surprise, surprise) Erling Haaland.

Neymar equalised soon after, taking advantage of an unfortunate slip from Dan Axel Zagadou. The away goal would prove to be crucial, but Dortmund weren’t to be denied victory on the night.

Erling Haaland thumped the ball into the back of the net from 18 yards out just moments after PSG’s equaliser, sealing a 2-1 win for the Black and Yellows in front of a roaring Westfalenstadion crowd.
