Reports in England claimed yesterday that Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has agreed personal terms with Manchester United. Ruhr Nachrichten have categorically denied those rumours.

Jadon Sancho has been heavily linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund in recent months, with Premier League sides Manchester United and Chelsea said to be leading the race for his signature. Yesterday, the Sun claimed that Manchester United have agreed “almost every detail of the move, down to the fine print” with the England international.

However, the very reliable newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten have now confirmed that there is zero truth to that report, and nothing has yet been discussed or negotiated between Manchester United and Jadon Sancho.

The report adds that while Borussia Dortmund know that Sancho will not retire at the club, his departure from the club this summer is by no means a forgone conclusion. The 20 year old is happy at the Westfalenstadion, and could yet extend his stay with the club.

Sky Germany have also denied any agreement between Sancho and Manchester United. A Sancho-based source is said to have told Sky, “It is also wrong to call any one of the many potential buyers a favourite.”

Sancho still has over two years remaining on his Borussia Dortmund contract, which expires at the end of the 2021/22 season. And BILD claimed last week that the Black and Yellows are willing to offer him a pay rise if he stays at the club beyond the summer. If Sancho does decide to leave this summer, the BVB bosses will seek a transfer fee in the region of 130 million euros.
