Michael Zorc has revealed that Borussia Dortmund are looking at one or two players as possible replacements for Jadon Sancho if he leaves this summer.

Jadon Sancho is being heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Manchester United thought to be the only serious prospect for his signature. Reports have claimed in the last few days that Borussia Dortmund will demand a fee of 120 million euros for the England international, and they have set a deadline of August 10 for interested clubs to meet their asking price.

Now Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has confirmed that the Black and Yellows will be back in the transfer market if Sancho leaves this summer. Speaking to German magazine Kicker, Zorc said (H/T: Fussball.News):

"“If Jadon leaves, we would like to sign a new offensive player. There are certainly one or two players that we are keeping an eye on.”"

Zorc also confirmed that Dortmund will not be spending the entirety of the transfer fee that they receive for Sancho on his replacement.

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans Joachim Watzke is also quoted as saying that signing a replacement for Sancho would be tricky, as transfer fees would increase if they sell the winger.

"“If we give up Sancho, every player we are interested in will cost five to ten million euros more than the week before. We have nothing to give away.”“When you don’t have a state or a multi-billionaire behind you, you need to be a little more careful at the moment. Without an end date for corona, we do not have any planning security.”"

Sancho was one of Borussia Dortmund’s best performers this season, with 20 goals and 18 assists to his name in 44 appearances in all competitions. So replacing the winger certainly won’t be an easy task for Michael Zorc. and co.

Valencia’s Ferran Torres, Werder Bremen’s Milot Rashica and Gremio’s Everton Soares have been linked with Dortmund in recent months as possible replacements for the 20 year old.

Borussia Dortmund have already signed PSG right-back Thomas Meunier, while the signing of highly rated midfielder Jude Bellingham is likely to follow. More new arrivals are not expected this summer, unless of course Sancho departs.
