Lukasz Piszczek (N/R)

Making his first start of the season, Piszczek had to be subbed off after just 20 minutes with an eye injury. He was replaced by Thomas Delaney, with the Dane putting an excellent shift in his new role.

Mats Hummels (6/10)

Hummels was troubled on a few occasions due to his lack of pace, especially by Ishak Belfodil. But he still had a fairly decent game, often anticipating danger well in advance for his side. He made a total of six interceptions as well as two clearances, helping Dortmund keep their third clean sheet in four league games.

Emre Can (7/10)

Can started at the left of the back three, but switched to the right after Thomas Delaney came on. He looked solid all game and won the majority of his duels as he so often does. He also looked to get forward and caused Hoffenheim some trouble with his direct approach.
