Players to Watch

Erling Haaland is always the player to watch for Borussia Dortmund. He was exceptional last year but this year he seems to have rounded out his game and is on the way to taking his quality to a whole other level. He is so much more physically mature than last season and it’s really started to show as he has been bullying opponent defenders in the hold up game. If he gets in behind Schalke or anyone else’s back line for that matter it’s near impossible to catch him.

Jadon Sancho has seen a recent dip in form, and it will be interesting to see if Lucien Favre decides to keep him in the starting XI. Even if he doesn’t start, Sancho will certainly have a part to play off the bench. And he will certainly be determined to get back to the form we saw from him last season.

On the other end of the pitch, Schalke striker Gonçalo Paciência will be a player the Borussia Dortmund defenders will have to keep a watchful eye on. The Eintracht Frankfurt loanee scored his first goal of the season last weekend, and he will certainly be a handful with his physicality.
