Thomas Meunier (6.5/10)

Meunier registered his first assist in a Borussia Dortmund shirt playing against his former club. He was afforded a lot of space down the right flank in the first half, and he took full advantage. He did well to get on the end of Mo Dahoud’s lobbed ball and square it to Erling Haaland, who found the back of the net to score Dortmund’s third goal.

The right-back did look vulnerable defensively on a couple of occasions against Diatta and Dennis, but luckily it didn’t end up costing the team.

Axel Witsel (8/10)

Playing at centre-back did not seem to bother Axel Witsel, who made the seamless transition into his new ole and hardly put a foot wrong. The Belgian international made some important recoveries for his side and defended well against the dangerous Brugge strikers. He also set up Erling Haaland’s first goal with a well placed header.

Manuel Akanji (6.5/10)

Akanji had a few sloppy giveaways early on, but looked much more assured as Borussia Dortmund took control of the game. He was strong in the duels, made some important tackles and did a fairly decent job of organising the defence, especially in the second half.

Raphael Guerreiro (6.5/10)

It was Guerreiro’s corner that led to Borussia Dortmund’s second goal. And the Portuguese international also played the pass to Delaney before the opener. He looked lively, even though he did not have too many direct contributions to the scoreline.
