Thomas Meunier (4.5/10)

Meunier never really looked comfortable defensive against the pacy Gnabry and Coman. He started well with some encouraging actions going forward. But as the game went on, the accuracy on his forward passes started to dwindle. He was lucky in the first half for the first of Bayern’s disallowed goals, as he was poor in closing down his man and letting the cross come into the box. But then Alaba’s shot deflected off of him and found the back of the net. Bayern certainly looked at him as a weakness after the break, and he was caught out on a number of occasions.

Manuel Akanji (6/10)

Defended well with his head and feet for the majority of the game, especially in the 31st minute to stop Kingsley Coman having a free shot at goal. He was caught ball watching and out of position on a couple of occasions, but it was a largely mistake free performance from Akanji.

Mats Hummels (5/10)

Hummels played a really good pass to Raphael Guerreiro in the build up to Borussia Dortmund’s opener. But he wasn’t at his defensive best tonight, as he lost out to Robert Lewandowski on a couple of occasions, including the header which gave Bayern the lead.

Raphael Guerreiro (8/10)

Guerreiro was one of, if not Borussia Dortmund’s best player on the night. He was always looking to make things happen and created both of his side’s goals. His tireless runs down the left flank were Dortmund’s biggest source of attacking pressure, and he was unlucky to end on the losing side tonight.
