Jadon Sancho: Manchester United links not behind dip in form at Borussia Dortmund

Jadon Sancho has shut down claims that transfer rumours linking him with a move away from Borussia Dortmund are behind his recent dip in form.
Jadon Sancho has endured a bit of a rough start to the season, and hasn’t been able to match the high standards of performances that he set for himself last season. He dominated headlines throughout the summer transfer window, with rumours heavily linking him with a move to Manchester United. But the Borussia Dortmund forward has denied that the distractions of all the transfer speculation are behind his recent dip in form.
Speaking to ITV after scoring in England’s 3-0 win over the Republic of Ireland, Sancho said:
"“Nah I don’t think so. Every player has a little dip in their career, and I feel I’m going through that at the moment. I’m bouncing back and I am happy to have managers who have faith in me and keep sight of me.”“I expect a lot from myself personally. When I play I try to assist and score, and help the team. For a couple of games I haven’t been assisting or scoring but I knew I had the chance to do that.”"
Despite his disappointing start to the season, Sancho still has two goals and four assists to his name in nine appearances for Borussia Dortmund so far this season. He will now be aiming to build on his impressive goal for England, as he looks to help the Black and Yellows challenge for the Bundesliga title.
Sancho was also asked about Borussia Dortmund teammate Jude Bellingham, who made his senior England debut on Thursday evening. Bellingham became the third youngest player to ever play for the Three Lions (after Theo Walcott and Wayne Rooney), and the 20 year old was full of praise of the midfielder after the game.
"“He deserves it. At Dortmund he gives 110% and his performances are world class. I’m very happy for him and I’m sure his family will be very proud of him.”"
Sancho and Bellingham still have two more games to play for England in the UEFA Nations League (against Belgium and Iceland), before they can return to training for Borussia Dortmund.
