Borussia Dortmund II maintained their unbeaten start to the season on Tuesday evening with a 4-0 win over SV Lippstadt.

After having their weekend game against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen postponed, the Borussia Dortmund U23s finally returned to action on Tuesday away to Lippstadt, aiming to build on their impressive start to the season. And they got off to the perfect start to the game, with Steffen Tigges scoring after just four minutes to give the Black and Yellows the lead.

Borussia Dortmund II continued to dominate after taking the lead, with Lippstadt happy to sit back and defend. And their hard work was rewarded at the half hour mark when Taylan Duman fired home a fine free-kick to make it 2-0. Richmond Tachie all but secured the win soon after the start of the second half, with his goal coming from a corner. And substitute Philipp Harlaß added a fourth in the 74th minute to give Enrico Maaßen’s side a comfortable win.

The only negative for Borussia Dortmund II was the injury to Alaa Bakir, who had to be subbed off soon after the fourth goal. Lippstadt defender Lukas Arenz received his second yellow card and was sent off for the foul on Bakir.

There were to be no more goals in the final 15 minutes, as Borussia Dortmund U23s cruised to their ninth win of the season. The win helped Dortmund go back to the top of the Regionalliga West standings. They are now one point clear of second placed RW Essen, and also have a game in hand.
