Mateu Morey (7/10)

Making his first start of the season, Mateu Morey exuded confidence and showed the same quality that we saw from him at the back end of last season. He was always a willing runner and looked dangerous every time he got into the final third. His most notable moment was his fine cross in the build up to Nico Schulz’ chance. He also made several important recoveries, and led the team with four interceptions.

Hopefully, he will get more chances from now on. He certainly deserves an extended run in the team.

Thomas Delaney (6.5/10)

Delaney put in another typically combative and tireless shift in the middle of the park. He won the ball in the build-up to the opener, and made some vital tackles for his side.

Jude Bellingham (6.5/10)

Lazio were trying to play the physical game with Bellingham, but he did not let them fluster him at all. He played the game with great composure and maturity, showing that he isn’t afraid to work hard and get stuck in for the team. His ideas going forward didn’t always come off, but he showed great fight and went toe to toe with the Lazio players.

Raphael Guerreiro (7.5/10)

Guerreiro capped off an impressive first half performance by giving Borussia Dortmund the lead on the stroke of half time. He was always on the move and looked dangerous whenever he ventured down the left flank. His night ended at the hour mark, with Nico Schulz replacing him.
