Thorgan Hazard back for Borussia Dortmund; Youssoufa Moukoko to miss DFB Pokal clash

Thorgan Hazard is back in the Borussia Dortmund squad for Tuesday’s DFB Pokal clash against Eintracht Braunschweig, but Mahmoud Dahoud has not made the trip.
Borussia Dortmund traveled to Braunschweig on Monday evening ahead of Tuesday’s DFB Pokal second round tie. Thorgan Hazard is back in the squad, having missed the last three games due to a muscle injury. But Ruhr Nachrichten say that a decision on whether he will be involved will be made shortly before the game.
Six first-team players were not part of the Borussia Dortmund squad that traveled to Braunschweig. Erling Haaland is back in Dortmund and was the last player to leave the Brackel training centre on Monday evening. He is working on his comeback and Edin Terzic said during his press conference that he expects the striker to be back in early January.
Sky Sport say that Youssoufa Moukoko will not be involved against Eintracht Braunschweig as he is being rested after starting the last two games.
RN also report that Mahmoud Dahoud, Reinier Jesus and Felix Passlack weren’t part of the traveling squad either. Reinier and Passlack missed Friday’s game against Union Berlin as well, but this time Dahoud also misses out. The newspaper did not report why exactly the midfielder is absent. Marcel Schmelzer also didn’t make the trip. He is in rehabilitation training after his knee surgery and his return date is still unknown.
There was also a surprise name in the Borussia Dortmund squad for the game against Eintracht Braunschweig, as Borussia Dortmund II captain and top scorer Stefan Tigges also made the trip. The 22 year old has found the net 12 times in 18 appearances in the Regionalliga West this season. If Tigges is involved on Tuesday, it would be his first appearance for the senior team.
