Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt reportedly a target for Arsenal

Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Julian Brandt is reportedly being considered by Premier League side Arsenal.
Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt is said to be attracting the interest of Arsenal. The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that the English Premier League side would like to sign a creative midfielder in January, and Brandt is one of the names under consideration.
While Brandt has made 22 appearances for Borussia Dortmund so far this season, he has been limited to just ten starts. In 950 minutes of action across all competitions, the German international has just one goal and one assist to his name.
While Ornstein does not mention if Arsenal will act on their interest in signing Brandt, he does say that they could look to solve their creativity problem in January after a poor start to the season. Arsenal were interested in signing Dominik Szoboszlai before he decided to join RB Leipzig. While their interest in Lyon’s Houssem Aouar has waned in recent months.
Brandt joined Borussia Dortmund from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of 25 million euros in the summer of 2019. He has three and a half years remaining on his current contract with the Black and Yellows, which expires at the end of the 2023/24 season.
With Borussia Dortmund not planning to make any new signings in the January transfer window, it is highly unlikely that they would be willing to part ways with Brandt. The 24 year old playmaker has endured a rough few months, but he is still rated very highly at the club.
