Midfield: Thomas Delaney, Emre Can

With the injury to Axel Witsel, we will see at least one change in midfield on Saturday. Thomas Delaney started alongside Witsel last weekend, and he will likely be joined by Emre Can against Mainz. Julian Brandt could also be an option, should Edin Terzic look to inject a little more creativity in the middle of the park.

Jude Bellingham is expected to be back in the squad, but it remains to be seen if he is ready to start games yet. While Mahmoud Dahoud will be hoping to return to the squad after being left out last weekend.

Borussia Dortmund are sure to have the majority of the possession in this game, and having someone who can break through the Mainz midfield could be the key to getting the three points.

Both Delaney and Can are on four yellow cards, and they cannot afford to pick up another one on Saturday with big games against Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach coming up.
