RB Leipzig earn hard-fought win over Union Berlin

Union Berlin missed out on the chance to go fourth, as they were beaten 1-0 by RB Leipzig. Julian Nagelsmann’s side dominated the game, but had to wait until the 70th minute to find the breakthrough. And it arrived through substitute Emil Forsberg.

The win means that Leipzig remain second, four points behind Bayern Munich. While Union Berlin stay sixth, one point shy of fourth placed Borussia Dortmund.

Gladbach ride their luck against Werder Bremen

Borussia Mönchengladbach were far from their best but got the three points against Werder Bremen, with Nico Elvedi’s second half header proving to be the winner. Bremen created a host of big chances in both halves, but seemed to be missing their shooting boots as Gladbach came away with a vital win.

Marco Rose’s side will now have the chance to go fourth on Friday with a win against Borussia Dortmund.
