Marco Rose has been heavily linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund since Lucien Favre’s departure from the Westfalenstadion. The Borussia Mönchengladbach head coach is said to be Dortmund’s desired candidate to take over as head coach before the start of next season. And according to WAZ (subscription required), they have long made their interest known to both Gladbach and Rose himself.
The report adds that Borussia Dortmund feel that they have a ‘good chance’ of making a move to the club an ‘attractive’ option for the former RB Salzburg head coach.
Rose has reportedly made quite an impression on the decision makers at Borussia Dortmund, who have been pleased with his charisma and the playing style he has adopted at Gladbach. The 44-year old only joined Borussia Mönchengladbach last summer but has already made quite an impact on the club. He led the Foals to Champions League qualification last season, and helped them qualify for the round of 16 earlier this season.
Marco Rose would not be averse to joining Borussia Dortmund in the summer
There have already been signals that Marco Rose himself would be ‘anything but averse’ to a summer move to Borussia Dortmund, the newspaper adds. The Gladbach trainer has so far refused to talk about his future beyond the end of the season.
While Rose’s contract with Gladbach does not expire until the end of next season, several reports in Germany have claimed that he could be available in the summer for a fee in the region of five million euros.
Marco Rose will go up against his potential future employers on Friday evening, as Borussia Mönchengladbach host Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
