Borussia Dortmund have submitted a 29-man squad for the UEFA Champions League knockout rounds. There aren’t too many changes to the squad, with Axel Witsel and Marcel Schmelzer the only senior players to be left out. The Belgian international tore his achilles tendon last month and will miss the rest of the season. While Schmelzer hasn’t played yet this season and is currently in rehab after undergoing a knee surgery in July.

BVB II captain Steffen Tigges has been added to the ‘A-list’ of the Champions League squad. Tigges made his Borussia Dortmund debut in December and signed his first professional contract with the club last month. The 22 year old is the only new addition to the 29-man squad.

Borussia Dortmund are due to take on Spanish side Sevilla FC in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The first leg of the tie will take place in Spain on Wednesday, February 17. While the second leg will be held at the Westfalenstadion on Tuesday, March 09.
