Thorgan Hazard is back in team training after six weeks out with a muscle injury. The Belgian international took part in Tuesday’s training session as Borussia Dortmund stepped up their preparations for Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against TSG Hoffenheim.

Hazard’s season so far has been blighted by injuries, but he still has three goals and three assists to his name in 12 appearances across all competitions. His absence has been sorely felt in the Borussia Dortmund attack in recent games.

The 27 year old suffered a muscle injury in the DFB-Pokal second round clash against Eintracht Braunschweig in December, just minutes after he made his return from a previous injury.

Borussia Dortmund face a season-defining month with key games in all three competitions

Thorgan Hazard’s return comes at a crucial time for Borussia Dortmund, with several key matches coming up in the next few weeks. After their home game against TSG Hoffenheim this weekend, the Black and Yellows will make the trip to Spain to take on Sevilla in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash.

Games against Schalke 04, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayern Munich are also just around the corner for Edin Terzic’s side.

In other injury news, Thomas Meunier and Dan-Axel Zagadou both trained individually on Tuesday. Saturday’s game will likely come too soon for the defensive duo. Roman Bürki (shoulder), Axel Witsel (torn achilles tendon) and Marcel Schmelzer (rehab after knee surgery) remain out with their respective injuries.
