Borussia Dortmund are being linked with a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who has reportedly become increasingly frustrated with his lack of playing time. According to Sky Sports, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race to sign the goalkeeper if he decides to leave this summer.

Reports in Germany have claimed in recent weeks that the Black and Yellows will look to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window, with the BVB bosses reportedly unhappy with the performances of Roman Bürki and Marwin Hitz. Hitz will also be out of contract in the summer.

Several goalkeepers have been linked with a move to the Signal Iduna Park in recent weeks, including RB Leipzig’s Peter Gulacsi, Ajax’s Andre Onana, SL Benfica’s Odysseas Vlachodimos, Fiorentina’s Bartłomiej Drągowski and Lazio’s Thomas Strakosha. It remains to be seen whether Dortmund have a serious interest in signing Henderson.

Henderson only signed a new five year contract with Manchester United in August, and earns a weekly salary of 120,000 pounds. And United are unlikely to want to part ways with the highly rated shot-stopper for cheap.

Henderson has been limited to just 12 appearances across all competitions so far this season, and is second choice to David de Gea in the pecking order for goalkeepers at Manchester United. Sky Sports also claim that the England international’s preferred option would be to stay at United. But he would be open to the idea of playing abroad if his situation does not change in the coming months.
