Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in signing highly rated VfL Wolfsburg centre-back Maxence Lacroix. Sky Germany report that the BVB bosses have the 20 year old on their radar, and they have already made contact with the player’s entourage.

Lacroix has developed into one of the best young defenders in the Bundesliga since joining Wolfsburg from French side FC Sochaux on a four year deal last summer.

The France U-21s international has made a total of 26 appearances for Wolfsburg so far this season and has played a vital role in their success. No team in the Bundesliga has conceded fewer goals than Wolfsburg so far this season (19), and Lacroix is one of the reasons why.

Sky add that Lacroix does not have a release clause in his contract with Wolfsburg. So it could prove to be difficult for Borussia Dortmund to sign him this summer.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly looking to bring in a new centre-back in the upcoming summer transfer window, and have already been linked with moves for Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic and Cagliari’s Sebastian Walukiewicz.

The Black and Yellows are also set to sign highly rated Paris St. Germain defender Soumaila Coulibaly on a free transfer in the summer. Dortmund are reportedly convinced that the 17 year old has the talent to make it to the first-team in the near future.
