Mateu Morey (7/10)

Morey was heavily involved in the game with Borussia Dortmund running the majority of their attacks through his flank (92 touches in the first half alone). He showed his quality with an excellent cross for Marco Reus early on, and once again staked a claim for why he should be the regular starter at right back.

Mats Hummels (6/10)

Hummels organised the defence well and did not do much wrong against the physically strong Cordoba. But he did suffer an injury in the second half and had to be replaced by Dan-Axel Zagadou.

Emre Can (6/10)

Can looked solid for the large part of the game against the dangerous Cordoba and Piatek. He also forced a fine save from Jarstein in the second half and often looked to play the ball forward from defence.

Nico Schulz (5.5/10)

Schulz wasn’t as involved in the attacking play as Morey, but made a couple of vital defensive contributions in the first half. He picked up an unnecessary yellow card in the first half and struggled at times against Zeefuik. His lack of quality on the ball was visible once again against Hertha.
