Marco Rose ‘a big fan’ of reported Borussia Dortmund target Maxence Lacroix
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in signing VfL Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix. And Sky Germany now claim that incoming BVB head coach Marco Rose is a big fan of the highly rated defender.
The report adds that concrete talks have not yet taken place between Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg over a potential transfer. The Wolves are said to be a wanting a fee of more than 30 million euros for the Frenchman. And it remains to be seen if the Black and Yellows would be willing to offer such a sum during this period of financial uncertainty.
Lacroix only made the switch to Wolfsburg from French side FC Sochaux last summer, but has already made a big impact in the Bundesliga. The 20 year old has made 23 Bundesliga appearances so far this season and has played a big role in solidifying the Wolfsburg defence. He does not have a release clause in his contract, which runs until the end of the 2023/24 season.
Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer said earlier this month that there is no price tag on Lacroix, amid rumours claiming that he could be sold for 30 million euros. Sky Germany add that Wolfsburg do not want to sell the defender this summer. And with so much time left on his contract, they will be under no pressure to sell him.
It is widely expected that Borussia Dortmund will look to bolster their defence in the summer transfer window. They have already made one summer signing, with highly rated central defender Soumaila Coulibaly arriving on a free transfer from Paris St. Germain.
