Borussia Dortmund could only manage a 2-2 draw against FC Köln before the international break, and currently sit four points behind Eintracht Frankfurt, who occupy fourth place in the Bundesliga standings. The Eagles have been outperforming all expectations this season, and earned a stunning win over Bayern Munich not too long ago.
They also held Borussia Dortmund to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture, but have tasted defeats in each of their last nine visits to the Signal Iduna Park.
Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without Jadon Sancho for this game, as he is still at least a week away from being able to make his return. But Marco Reus, Raphael Guerreiro and Mateu Morey could all be back in the squad after recovering from their injuries.
