The last time these two sides met was back in December, and Borussia Dortmund were handed an embarrassing 5-1 defeat at home, which marked the end of the Lucien Favre era.
Stuttgart took the lead through Silas Wamangituka, before Gio Reyna equalised for Borussia Dortmund with a stunning strike. The second half was all Stuttgart though, as Wamangituka made it 2-1, before Philipp Förster, Tanguy Coulibaly and Nicolas Gonzalez all scored to give the newly promoted side a dominant 5-1 win.
It was an abject performance by the Black and Yellows, and Lucien Favre paid the price for the defeat, as he was sacked just one day later.

Borussia Dortmund head into this weekend’s game not only to try and get a measure of revenge, but also to get their season back on track. And anything other than a win against Stuttgart would only heap further pressure on Edin Terzic’s side.
