Jadon Sancho back in individual training but unlikely to return against Manchester City

Jadon Sancho is closing in on his return from injury and completed an individual training session on Sunday. The 21 year old did some sprints and also worked with the ball on the pitch. “Feels good to be back on the pitch again,” he tweeted after the session.
While Sancho is on the verge of making his return to team training, he is still likely to miss the second leg of Borussia Dortmund’s UEFA Champions League quarterfinal against Manchester City. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Borussia Dortmund expect that Wednesday’s clash against Manchester City will come too soon for the England international.
Sancho has been out with a muscle injury since the start of March. He traveled to Dubai to see a specialist before making his return to Dortmund earlier this month. His return will come at an important time for Borussia Dortmund, as they look to keep their slim hopes of finishing in the top four alive.
While Sancho is unlikely to play on Wednesday, Marco Reus, Mats Hummels and Jude Bellingham should be available. The trio had to be subbed off in the game against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday. But according to Ruhr Nachrichten, the hopes are high in the Borussia Dortmund camp that all three players will be fit to face Manchester City.
Head coach Edin Terzic gave Reus and Hummels the all-clear following the Black and Yellows’ 3-2 win over VfB Stuttgart.
Manchester City hold a 2-1 lead going into the second leg of the quarterfinal, but Marco Reus’ away goal means that Borussia Dortmund are still very much in the contest.
