Borussia Dortmund will be looking to close the gap on their Bundesliga top four rivals as they take on Werder Bremen at home on Sunday.

Both Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt suffered defeats on Saturday, giving a huge boost to Borussia Dortmund’s hopes of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League. Now it is up to the Black and Yellows to take advantage of their rivals slipping up by defeating Werder Bremen.

Borussia Dortmund have won just one of their last five games and were knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester City on Wednesday despite a resolute showing over the two legs.

Edin Terzic’s side now go up against Werder Bremen, who have proven to be a tough opponent for them in recent years. Bremen have lost each of their last four league games and currently find themselves in 13th place in the table. But if recent games between these two sides are anything to go by, we should be in for a hard fought contest on Sunday.

Borussia Dortmund will be without Jadon Sancho once again, while Thomas Delaney is a doubt. Erling Haaland will be looking to find the back of the net again, after going seven straight games without a goal for club and country.
