Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to maintain the pressure on their top four rivals as they take on Union Berlin in the Bundesliga on Wednesday.

Having closed the gap to Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg on Sunday, Borussia Dortmund will now believe that they can pull off a stunning turnaround and finish in the top four this season. But in order to keep their hopes of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League alive, the Black and Yellows must get the three points against a dangerous Union Berlin side on Wednesday.

Borussia Dortmund returned to winning ways with a come from behind 4-1 win over Werder Bremen on Sunday. Erling Haaland scored a brace to lead Edin Terzic’s side to a dominant win, which helped them close the gap to their top four rivals. Gio Reyna and Mats Hummels also found the net in the win over Bremen.

Borussia Dortmund have now won their last two games in the Bundesliga, but they haven’t earned three straight league wins since October. And beating Union Berlin certainly won’t be an easy task.

Union Berlin have won only two of their last five games, but they did manage to earn an impressive 1-1 draw away to Bayern Munich just two match-days ago. The Berliners returned to winning ways at the weekend, earning a 2-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart.

Urs Fischer’s side currently find themselves in eighth place in the Bundesliga standings, just six points behind Borussia Dortmund. And if they manage to pull off an upset on Wednesday, they  will fancy their chances of finishing in the top six and qualifying for Europe.
