Previous Meeting: Borussia Dortmund 3-2 RB Leipzig
The two sides only just faced off in the Bundesliga on Saturday, and it was Borussia Dortmund who came out a top, earning a vital 3-2 win over RB Leipzig.
Marco Reus scored the early opener for Borussia Dortmund, before Jadon Sancho made it 2-0 in the second half. But the Black and Yellows then began to tire, and RB Leipzig took full advantage. Goals from Lukas Klostermann and Dani Olmo helped Leipzig force their way back into the game and make it 2-2.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side looked the more likely of the two sides to find the winner. But Jadon Sancho had other ideas, as he restored Borussia Dortmund’s advantage on the counter-attack in the 87th minute. That goal proved to be the winner, giving Edin Terzic’s side the all-important three points.
Games between these two sides are often entertaining, topsy-turvy affairs. And expect Thursday’s crucial DFB-Pokal final to be no different.
