Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in signing LOSC Lille winger Jonathan Ikoné, as a potential replacement for Jadon Sancho.
This is being reported by France Football, who claim that incoming BVB head coach Marco Rose is a big fan of the 23 year old. The report also claims that the Black and Yellows are willing to spend a transfer fee of 25 million euros for Ikoné’s signature.
Jonathan Ikoné was linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund last summer as well, when Jadon Sancho was attracting interest from Manchester United. But Sancho ended up staying after the Premier League side failed to meet the demands set by the BVB bosses. The England international’s future has been the subject of a lot of speculation in recent weeks, with reports claiming that he would be allowed to leave this summer for a fee of 100 million euros.
Ikoné, who is primarily a winger but can also play through the middle, has scored seven goals and provided seven assists to his name in 47 appearances for Lille this season. The former PSG man has just over two years left on his contract with the Ligue 1 title contenders. Italian side AC Milan are also said to be interested in signing him.
France Football believe that Ikoné’s speed, explosiveness and dribbling skills would fit perfectly with the playing style Marco Rose wants to use at Borussia Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund have been linked with a number of forwards in recent weeks, including PSV Eindhoven duo Noni Madueke and Donyell Malen.
