Several teams from the 2. Bundesliga are reportedly showing an interest in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Steffen Tigges.

This is being reported by Ruhr Nachrichten, who add that there have been no offers worth considering so far. Steffen Tigges led the Borussia Dortmund U-23s to the Regionalliga West title this season by scoring 22 goals and providing 15 assists in the competition.

Tigges’ performances for the U-23s saw him earn a maiden call-up to the Borussia Dortmund senior team in December. He became a regular part of the first-team squad after that, and made a total of eight senior appearances over the course of the season.

Tigges was rewarded for his impressive performances with a new contract in January. His current deal with the Black and Yellows does not expire until the end of the 2023/24 season.

It will be interesting to see what Borussia Dortmund’s future plans are with Tigges. The 22 year old is a solid back-up option for Erling Haaland and Youssoufa Moukoko. And he is also the captain of the BVB U-23s team, who will play in the third division of German football next season.

Ruhr Nachrichten also have updates on the futures of Marius Wolf, Sergio Gomez and Immanuel Pherai. The trio spent the recently concluded season out on loan, and RN say that they are not part of Borussia Dortmund’s plans for next season. However, BVB have yet to receive any offers for the trio and their futures still remain open. Leonardo Balerdi, on the other hand, is set to join Olympique Marseille on a permanent transfer.
