Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is reportedly closing in on a move to Manchester United, with the two sides said to be nearing an agreement.
Speculation about Jadon Sancho’s future has dominated headlines in recent months, with Manchester United interested in signing him once again this summer. Now it looks like the move could be close, with the Athletic claiming that Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United are nearing an agreement.
They also report that the gap between the two clubs is now down to single-digit millions, and the expectation is that an agreement will be struck this summer.
Manchester United wanted to sign Sancho last summer as well, but failed to meet Borussia Dortmund’s transfer demands. United’s interest in the England international has not waned, and they have reportedly made multiple bids for his signature this summer.
Borussia Dortmund have been adamant that they want a fee of 95 million euros plus bonuses to part ways with Sancho. The Athletic now claim that a fee of around 90 million euros could be enough to reach an agreement. Performance related bonuses will likely be added to any deal. The report also adds that an agreement could be reached during the European Championships, with the formal side of the transfer likely to be resolved after the tournament.
Sancho scored 16 goals and provided 20 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions this season for Borussia Dortmund. He has two years left on his contract with the Black and Yellows.
PSV Eindhoven duo Donyell Malen and Noni Madueke are said to be on Borussia Dortmund’s list of potential targets to replace Sancho.
