Another cracking Euro 2020 round of 16 tie awaits us on Monday, as Switzerland go up against France at the National Arena in Bucharest.

Switzerland made it to the knockout phase of Euro 2020 despite finishing third in Group A, and their reward is a round of 16 clash against France. The reigning world champions overcame the challenge of Germany and Portugal to finish top in Group F. But they will know that they have a lot of improving to do if they want to win the Euros this summer.

France still go into the round of 16 tie as heavy favourites. Les Blues have world-class players in nearly every position. And if their star-studded forwards manage to click into gear, Manuel Akanji and co. could be in for a long night on Monday.

France vs Switzerland: Predicted starting lineups

France’s mounting injury woes could force them into making a few changes for Monday’s game. Left-backs Lucas Hernandez and Lucas Digne are both dealing with injuries, although the former could still be in with a chance to feature. Marcus Thuram and Jules Koundé are also doubts, while Ousmane Dembele has already been ruled out of the tournament.

Switzerland do not have any injury concerns going into the game and should be able to field their strongest XI. Here is a look at how the two teams could line up on Monday.

France: Lloris – Pavard, Varane, Kimpembe, Hernandez – Kante, Pogba, Tolisso – Griezmann – Mbappe, Benzema

Switzerland: Sommer – Elvedi, Akanji, Rodriguez – Widmer, Freuler, Xhaka, Zuber – Shaqiri; Embolo, Seferovic
