Marco Rose has said that Borussia Dortmund are looking to sign a ‘pacy winger who can take players on one-on-one’ to replace Jadon Sancho.

With Jadon Sancho set to join Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund are looking for a successor. The Black and Yellows have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, including Donyell Malen, Noni Madueke and Marcel Sabitzer.

Head coach Marco Rose was asked about possible new signings at Borussia Dortmund this summer. And while the 44 year old did not want to get drawn into the rumours, he did comment on what they are looking for in a possible replacement for Sancho.

"“If we brought all the players who are currently in the newspapers, then Aki Watzke would not even have a button in his wallet,” Rose said during a media round. “And we would have a squad of 46 players. I think it would be better for us to discuss this internally and then see what else happens in terms of departures and possible arrivals.”“But one thing is clear: If you lose a player like Jadon Sancho, then you have to look for a winger with pace who can take players on one-on-one. That’s certainly a position where we are still looking to do something.”"

Donyell Malen is thought to be Borussia Dortmund’s top target to replace Jadon Sancho. While he is not necessarily a winger, the 22 year old is more than capable of playing out wide and also through the middle.

Malen is coming off an impressive season with PSV, with 27 goals and 10 assists to his name in 45 appearances across all competitions. Liverpool are also thought to be interested in signing him this summer.

Malen’s PSV Eindhoven teammate Noni Madueke is another player who is attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund. But PSV want to keep him for another season, and will only sell him this summer if they receive a mega offer. The 19 year old’s father and agent visited BVB’s training ground last week.
