Donyell Malen arrived in Bad Ragaz on Sunday morning to undergo a medical check ahead of his move to Borussia Dortmund. And the transfer could be made official on Monday.

Sebastian Kehl has confirmed that Donyell Malen is on the verge of completing his move to Borussia Dortmund. The Netherlands international landed at BVB’s training camp in Switzerland on Sunday morning. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, he completed his medical check on Sunday afternoon and then underwent his performance diagnostics tests.

"Sebastian Kehl told WAZ: “Donyell Malen has arrived for his medical check. But there are still some final details still left to be resolved.”"

PSV Eindhoven and Borussia Dortmund agreed to a transfer fee in the region of 30 million euros earlier this week after complicated negotiations with Malen’s agent Mino Raiola.

Malen will sign a five year contract with Borussia Dortmund, and the transfer will likely be made official on Monday. The hope is that the 22 year old will be able to start training with his new teammates on Monday or Tuesday.

Malen has always been Borussia Dortmund’s top target to succeed Jadon Sancho, who has joined Manchester United. And sporting director Michael Zorc will no doubt be delighted to get the deal for the former Arsenal youth team player over the line two weeks before the start of the season.

Malen was primarily used as a striker by PSV Eindhoven last season, but he is more than capable of playing out wide. His arrival will give head coach Marco Rose the flexibility of using different systems. The Netherlands international will become Borussia Dortmund’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
