Julian Brandt not planning to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer

Julian Brandt is not thinking about leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer, amid rumours linking him with a move to AC Milan.
Reports in Italy continue to link Julian Brandt with a move away from Borussia Dortmund. First SS Lazio were thought to be interested, now AC Milan have apparently joined the race for his signature. But the playmaker has no plans to leave BVB this summer.
"In an interview with RTL, Brandt said: “I never fuelled these transfer rumors myself. It was the newspapers in Italy. Of course, it’s nice when other clubs express interest. But from my side, there have never been any signs that I was was thinking about a transfer. I don’t think I’ll be playing anywhere else this year.”"
Brandt is coming off a disappointing season with Borussia Dortmund. The 25 year old failed to cement his place in the starting XI and could only manage four goals and two assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. He was also left out of Germany’s Euro 2020 squad as a result.
Despite the disappointment of last season, Brandt is not looking to leave Borussia Dortmund and wants to fight for his place in the team.
Borussia Dortmund aren’t planning to part ways with Brandt either. Michael Zorc confirmed earlier this month that the former Bayer Leverkusen man will be given another chance this season to prove himself. But the BVB sporting director also called for better performances from the German international.
Brandt, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Bayer Leverkusen in 2019, has three years left on his current contract. The upcoming season looks set to be a defining one for his BVB career. And the hope will be that the arrival of Marco Rose as head coach is the boost Brandt needs to finally show his quality on a more consistent basis.
