How Borussia Dortmund could line up under Marco Rose this season

With Mateu Morey expected to miss the majority of the season, Thomas Meunier will be the first-choice right-back for Borussia Dortmund. The Belgian international failed to live up to expectations during his first season at BVB. But he goes into the new season on the back of an impressive Euro 2020 campaign for Belgium. If he manages to perform like that for Borussia Dortmund, he will quickly win over the fans.
Manuel Akanji showed his quality during the business end of last season. And he followed that up with an impressive showing for Switzerland at the Euros. He will start in central defence alongside Mats Hummels, who was one of Borussia Dortmund’s most consistent performers last season. The 32 year old will lead the Borussia Dortmund defence once again this season. And his performances will be vital to their hopes of competing for the Bundesliga title.
Raphael Guerreiro has proven time and time again that he is one of the best left-backs in the world. The Portuguese international is an important creative outlet down the left flank for Borussia Dortmund. And he will no doubt get a lot of freedom to venture forward under Marco Rose.
