How Borussia Dortmund could line up under Marco Rose this season

Borussia Dortmund’s midfield combination will depend on the formation Marco Rose decides to go with. But if it is a 4-2-3-1 formation, we could well see Mahmoud Dahoud and Jude Bellingham occupying the double pivot role. The duo formed an impressive midfield partnership during the second half of last season.
Dahoud showed last season that he is just as capable of getting the job done defensively, as he is of making things happen going forward. He is primed to play a key role under Marco Rose this season.
Bellingham’s rise so far has been nothing short of incredible. And he looks set to take another big step forward this season. With another year’s experience now under his belt, the box to box midfielder will be crucial to Borussia Dortmund’s chances this season.
Axel Witsel is also back after his long injury lay-off. With Borussia Dortmund competing in three competitions, he will no doubt be used a lot this season. And his composure in the middle of the park will be especially crucial in games where Marco Rose decides to use the diamond formation. Emre Can, Thomas Delaney, Julian Brandt and Abdoulaye Kamara are the other midfield options in the BVB squad.
