Borussia Dortmund began their season by earning a 3-0 win over SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, courtesy of a hat-trick from Erling Haaland. The Norwegian international picked up right where he left off last season and lifted his side to a straightforward win.

New signings Donyell Malen and Gregor Kobel both made their debuts for Borussia Dortmund, while Axel Witsel came on for his first appearance for the club since January.

Borussia Dortmund played with great intensity and created a host of big chances. And Marco Rose will be pleased with his side’s performance in his first competitive game in charge. Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 3-0 win over SV Wehen Wiesbaden.

Gregor Kobel (6.5/10)

Kobel was barely tested in the first half, but he had to be alert on a number of occasions in the second. He also looked confident and composed on the ball, and played some really good forward passes.
