Borussia Dortmund head coach Marco Rose has praised Jude Bellingham, saying that he loves the way the England international plays his football.
Jude Bellingham exceeded all expectations during his debut season with Borussia Dortmund following his move from Birmingham City last summer. The young midfielder quickly forced his way into the BVB starting XI and also earned his place in the England squad for the European Championships. And Marco Rose is looking forward to working with him this season.
"In an interview with bundesliga.com, Rose heaped praise on Bellingham.“I love the way he plays football,” Rose said. “I think he is an aggressive player who does so much for the team but also plays football with such confidence for his relative young age.”"
Bellingham’s debut season at Borussia Dortmund was certainly a memorable one. His aim for this season will be to build on that and continue his progress. The fact that Bellingham made the starting XI for the DFB-Pokal first round tie against SV Wehen Wiesbaden despite only returning to training after his post Euro 2020 break just five days earlier tells you all you need to know about his determination and desire.
Marco Rose: It is nice to be able to train such talented players
Marco Rose also said that he is enjoying working with ‘such talented’ players at Borussia Dortmund. The 44 year old said that the Black and Yellows have a good mix of highly rated youngsters and experienced players.
"“It is nice to be able to train such talented players. Erling is still very young, Gio young, Mouki, of course. We have a very large squad but you also need the others: the ones that take the lead and have experience. Marco, Emre, Axel Witsel, Mats Hummels. Manu [Akanji] who, I recently read already sees himself as an experienced, older leader in the team. Thomas Meunier, Delaney. We have a lot of players in both departments. It is important to complement each other and try to be successful together.”"
Rose is also looking forward to coaching in front of a full house at the Westfalenstadion. While it will be a while before that can happen, a total of 25,000 supporters will be at the stadium to watch Rose take charge of his first home game as Borussia Dortmund head coach this weekend. “It is special to come out and look to your left and to see the Yellow Wall. Ultimately, after this difficult period that we are currently still in, we are all looking extremely forward to experiencing a full stadium,” Rose said.
