Defenders: Felix Passlack, Manuel Akanji, Axel Witsel, Nico Schulz

With Thomas Meunier and Raphael Guerreiro still absent, Felix Passlack and Nico Schulz will start in the two full-back positions. Schulz put in an impressive performance in last weekend’s win over Wehen Wiesbaden. And he will now be looking to carry that form into the Bundesliga.

Passlack struggled a bit last weekend, and faces a tough test against Eintracht Frankfurt star man Filip Kostić this time around. He will have to be at his best to deal with the threat of the 28 year old.

Manuel Akanji will once again lead the Borussia Dortmund defence. The Swiss international showed his quality at the European Championships. And he will now be aiming to play a key role in BVB’s title bid this season.

It is Axel Witsel who starts alongside Akanji at centre-back. Emre Can is back in training, but is not named in the matchday squad. U-23s centre-back Antonios Papadopoulos starts on the bench.
