Players to Watch

Erling Haaland has failed to score in the last two games. And he will be itching to get back on the scoresheet on Friday. The Norwegian international has five goals and three assists to his name in just four appearances so far this season.

Jude Bellingham has made an impressive start to the season, and showed his quality in the defeat to SC Freiburg. He will be crucial to Borussia Dortmund’s hopes of dominating the midfield battle against Hoffenheim.

Andrej Kramaric will no doubt be the key man for Hoffenheim. He loves taking on Borussia Dortmund, and has scored seven goals in just eight appearances against them. He has also made an impressive start to the season, with two goals and four assists to his name in three appearances so far.

A familiar name will also return to the Signal Iduna Park on Friday. Jacob Bruun Larsen spent five years at Borussia Dortmund before joining Hoffenheim. He is in excellent form at the moment, having scored in both of Hoffenheim’s Bundesliga games so far. The Borussia Dortmund defenders will have to be wary of him on Friday.

Previous Meeting: Borussia Dortmund 2-2 TSG Hoffenheim

Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim played out a topsy-turvy 2-2 draw the last time they met. Goals from Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland weren’t enough for Edin Terzic’s side, as Sebastian Rudy starred to help Hoffenheim earn an impressive draw.

Borussia Dortmund took the lead through Jadon Sancho in the 24th minute. That lead was short-lived though, as Munas Dabbur made it 1-1 just seven minutes later. Hoffenheim then completed their comeback in the 51st minute, with Ihlas Bebou heading home from Sebastian Rudy’s cross.
