Borussia Dortmund will reportedly look to evaluate Reinier’s future after the first half of the season. And a premature end to the loan deal is also possible.

Reinier has found playing time hard to come by since joining Borussia Dortmund on a two year loan deal from Real Madrid last summer. The 19 year old has been limited to just 20 appearances across all competitions for the Black and Yellows, and has started just one game so far. And the BVB bosses will reportedly look to make a decision on his future in January.

According to BILD, Michael Zorc and Sebastian Kehl want to decide after the first half of the season on whether they want to continue with Reinier. The tabloid adds that an early end of the loan spell is also possible. But Reinier can prevent that if he manages to make an impression on those in charge.

Reinier missed the entire pre-season with Borussia Dortmund as he was away with Brazil to take part in the Olympic Games in Tokyo. He helped his country win the Olympic Gold medal and returned to Dortmund last month. He has made just one appearance so far this season, coming off the bench in the 84th minute against Bayern Munich.

Marco Rose was asked about Reinier earlier this week, and said that the forward must show his quality in training for a sustained period in order to get more playing time.
