Borussia Dortmund reportedly had a last minute loan bid for Max Aarons rejected by Norwich
Borussia Dortmund reportedly made a last minute bid to sign Max Aarons on loan with an option to buy. But the offer was rejected by Norwich City.
Borussia Dortmund’s search for a new right-back was well documented in the final few weeks of the summer transfer window. The Black and Yellows were linked with moves for a number of players, including Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot and Inter Milan’s Valentino Lazaro. And they also made an attempt to sign Norwich City’s Max Aarons, a report claims.
According to the Telegraph, Borussia Dortmund made a bid to sign Max Aarons on a season long loan deal with an option to buy the day before the transfer deadline. But the offer for the highly rated right-back was instantly rejected by Norwich City.
Borussia Dortmund were linked with a move for Aarons last summer as well. But they ended up signing Thomas Meunier on a free transfer from Paris St. Germain.
Aarons, who came through the Norwich City academy, has attracted the interest of a number of big clubs in recent years. The 21 year old has made a total of 133 appearances for Norwich City, and helped them achieve promotion to the English Premier League last season.
Borussia Dortmund did make one signing on transfer deadline day. Marin Pongracic arrived from VfL Wolfsburg on a season long loan with an option to buy. The defender is primarily a centre-back but can also play at right-back if needed. And he could make his BVB debut this weekend against Bayer Leverkusen.
