A total of 1,625 spectators, including Mats Hummels and Marcel Schmelzer, were in attendance to watch Borussia Dortmund Frauen play their first ever competitive game at the Rote Erde stadium on Sunday afternoon. The floodgates opened up in the second half, with Virginia Glänzer scoring BVB Frauen’s third goal with an excellent finish from the edge of the box. Hannah Goosmann then made it 4-0, before Vanessa Heim doubled her tally.

Ann-Kathrin Lau, who had scored the first ever goal in Borussia Dortmund Frauen’s history last month, then got on the scoresheet in the 76th minute. Ana Zabell found the bottom corner for her second goal of the afternoon three minutes from time. And captain Lisa Klemann then put the icing on the cake by making it 8-0 in stoppage time.
