Jude Bellingham has made an excellent start to the season and registered a goal and an assist in Borussia Dortmund’s win over Besiktas on Wednesday. He will be aiming to continue his fine run of form on Sunday. And with the Black and Yellows set to have the majority of the ball, he will certainly have a key role to play.
Donyell Malen is getting better and better, and delivered his best performance in a Borussia Dortmund shirt so far on Wednesday. After a slow start, he looks to be finally finding his rhythm. And don’t be surprised if he delivers another strong performance this weekend.
The strike partnership of Taiwo Awoniyi and Max Kruse will be key for Union Berlin. Awoniyi has made a strong start to the season and already has five goals and two assists to his name. While Kruse remains a threat in front of goal even at the age of 33. And the Borussia Dortmund defenders will have to be at their best to keep the duo quiet.
Previous Meeting: Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Union Berlin
Borussia Dortmund earned a 2-0 win over Union Berlin when the two sides last met in April. Goals from Marco Reus and Raphael Guerreiro helped BVB seal the three points even though they missed a host of big chances.
But Union Berlin have beaten Borussia Dortmund twice since their promotion to the Bundesliga in 2019. And we could be in for another hard fought game between the two teams on Sunday.
