Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich continued their winning runs on matchday five of the Bundesliga season. But RB Leipzig dropped points once again.

Bayern Munich are back on top of the Bundesliga standings following their 7-0 drubbing of newly promoted side VfL Bochum. Joshua Kimmich inspired the defending Bundesliga champions to a stunning win, as Robert Lewandowski made it 19 games in a row with a goal.

VFL Wolfsburg dropped down to second place on goal difference after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Eintracht Frankfurt. Sam Lammers gave the Eagles the lead in the first half, but Wout Weghorst scored to ensure a share of the spoils at the Volkswagen Arena.

RB Leipzig continued their disappointing start to the season, as they could only manage a 1-1 draw away to FC Köln. The Billy Goats took the lead through Anthony Modeste, before Amadou Haidara rescued a point for Jesse Marsch’s side.

Borussia Mönchengladbach dropped down to 16th place in the Bundesliga standings after suffering a 1-0 defeat to FC Augsburg. Florian Niederlechner’s 80th minute effort helped the Bavarian side earn their first win of the season.

Bayer Leverkusen returned to winning ways with a 3-1 win over VfB Stuttgart. Florian Wirtz continued his fine run of form, as he scored one and set up another for Patrik Schick. Robert Andrich was also on target for Leverkusen, before being sent off in the second half. Orel Mangala scored for Stuttgart, but his goal proved to be nothing more than a consolation in the end.
