Marco Rose has gone with a back three due to the injuries to Erling Haaland and Marco Reus, with Marin Pongracic joining Manuel Akanji and Mats Hummels.
Akanji and Hummels have formed a solid partnership at the back in recent months. And with Pongracic joining them in the back-line, the trio will be aiming to keep a clean sheet against Gladbach.
Borussia Dortmund haven’t used the back three formation since Lucien Favre’s departure last year. And it will be interesting to see how the formation change works against Gladbach’s fluid front line.
