The formation change means that Borussia Dortmund will line up with a front three against Sporting CP. Marco Reus trained with the team on Monday and comes straight back into the starting XI. The Borussia Dortmund captain will be aiming to lead his team to a straightforward win on Tuesday evening.

Thorgan Hazard came off the bench on Saturday and makes his return to the starting XI against Sporting CP. The Belgian international will be important to Borussia Dortmund’s hopes of getting a good result on Tuesday.

Marco Rose urged patience with Donyell Malen during Monday’s pre-match press conference. The Dutchman has made a slow start to life at Borussia Dortmund. But a goal will go a long way in helping him restore his confidence. He will start up front against Sporting CP in Haaland’s absence.
