Another tough test awaits Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga this weekend as they take on the high-flying FC Köln.

Borussia Dortmund go up against FC Köln this weekend in what should be an intriguing Bundesliga match-up between two teams that have made strong starts to the season. The Black and Yellows are currently one point behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga standings. And they will be aiming to maintain the pressure on the league leaders. But Köln are also full of confidence and could make life difficult for Marco Rose’s side.

Borussia Dortmund have done a decent job of recovering from last week’s 4-0 defeat to Ajax, considering the amount of injuries they are having to deal with. They cruised to victory over Arminia Bielefeld last weekend, before seeing off the challenge of Ingolstadt in the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday.

With games against Ajax and RB Leipzig coming up next week, Borussia Dortmund will be hoping for a straight-forward win against Köln on Saturday to keep their momentum going.

After narrowly avoiding relegation last season, FC Köln have made a remarkable start to the current campaign. The Billy Goats have won three of their opening nine games and find themselves in eighth place in the Bundesliga table.

Head coach Steffen Baumgart has made an impressive start to life in Köln, and he is someone who loves the big games. The 49 year old gave Borussia Dortmund a big scare in the DFB-Pokal last season when he was in charge of SC Paderborn. His Köln side also came close to beating RB Leipzig and getting a point against Bayern Munich earlier this season. And they came from two goals behind to earn a point against Bayer Leverkusen last weekend.
